The Full Story
About
Kickass Women of History is a new podcast, sharing stories of inspiring women in the past. We aim to be as diverse as possible, and welcome submissions about women from any time period, anywhere in the world and from any discipline - arts, science, politics, activism, academia, the forces... We particularly want to share stories of women not usually represented in the media, including women of colour, women with disabilities, working class and LGBTQIA women. Trans women are women.

Amy Cotterill
Having gotten the history bug at an early age, Amy found that it was the stories of the every day that particularly interested her. As a teenager, she spent her Sundays sitting in a hole with a trowel (volunteering with her local archaeology society) before going to university to study Ancient History and Archaeology. Since then, she has carved out a career as a public historian, working with museums and heritage sites to engage new audiences. In 2017, she founded "Snapping the Stiletto", a four-year women's history project based in Essex, UK. She is currently a cultural sector consultant and freelance producer.
Emma Cook
Emma has been fascinated by history since childhood, when she would make her parents endure endless visits to their local museum. A self-confessed history geek, she studied Modern History at University and then Museum Studies, and has worked in the heritage and cultural sector for over 20 years. Emma is passionate about exploring and sharing the stories of people from the past. She is currently working at Arts Council England.
